Twitter's Music App Is Real, We Are Hunted Acquisition Confirmed
It has been rumored for a while that Twitter has been working on a music app, but today, those rumors became a reality when Ryan Seacrest tweeted that he’s using the Twitter music app. He went on to tweet that he’s “lovin the app,” and that it shows what artists are trending (presumably on Twitter) as well as up and coming artists.

On top of the confirmation from Seacrest that a Twitter music app is in the works, the company also acquired We Are Hunted, a music discovery service. We Are Hunted confirmed this on their site earlier today and informed their users that they would be shutting down the service. Current users of the service can go grab their favorites before their accounts are closed.
While we are shutting down wearehunted.com, we will continue to create services that will delight you, as part of the Twitter team.
There’s no question that Twitter and music go well together. Artists turn to Twitter first to connect with fans, and people share and discover new songs and albums every day. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on at Twitter.
The Twitter Hub for all things media continues to expand as the platform now covers news, photos, videos, and music. The success of Vine has been great for Twitter, too, with the app becoming the number one free app in the Apple App Store and usage continuing to rise. Plus, with Twitter Cards, people will be able to listen, buy, and share music directly on Twitter.
It’s all coming together.
