Sony's Playstation 4 Ad Will Take You on A Trip Down Memory Lane

Sony’s latest PS4 ad is probably one of the better ads I’ve seen in quite a while.  The ad is sure to trigger a bunch of memories from your past regardless of whether your first Playstation console was the original, PS2, or PS3.  The ad appears to span over the course of around 20 years, from 1994/1995 when the first Playstation was released to today (2013) when the PS4 will be released later next month.

The video remains focused on a young male’s bedroom while the world outside his window evolves and changes over the 20 year timeframe.  The only other thing that remains the same is the friend of his who he games with. You will also notice how the girlfriend is absent from the last scene, guess she got tired of him gaming all the time?

Nonetheless, I really like how the ad goes from bad 90’s hairdos and big clunky TVs to better hairdos and thin LCD/LED TVs. Another thing that I always think about when I see stuff like this: how the graphics always seemed amazing (at their respective times).
