Skype releases updated iOS applications, brings HD video calls to iPad and iPhone
So let’s say you have yourself an iPad 4 or an iPhone 5. Your device has a beautiful display with a high pixel density capable of displaying as many or more pixels as today’s leading high definition televisions. With such a high quality display, you’re going to want to be able to take advantage of every last pixel. Well, with today’s updates to Skype for iPad and Skype for iPhone, you’ll now be able to take advantage of that Retina Display to its fullest potential; todays updates, which bring both the iPad and iPhone client to version 4.10, bring 720p high definition video calling to both the iPhone 5 and the iPad 4.
Unfortunately older devices are unsupported at this time, despite previous versions’ Retina displays. Skype is however claiming that the updates bring improved stability and performance enhancements to all devices, while also bringing a redesigned country code picker on the dial pad.
