Significator for iTunes Review

Are you looking for a great way to control your iTunes music library on your Mac? There are a lot of options out there, but today I’m going to share with you one that I found to be pretty awesome. Significator for iTunes is simple app with its sole purpose being to help you control iTunes.

The app sits in the menu bar, making it easy to access and it also has built-in Notification Center support, so you can keep an eye on what song is currently playing. Significator also supports global hotkeys (which are customizable via the app’s preferences) to make navigating through your music library even simpler.

Significator for iTunes is a fairly lightweight app, in my testing it didn’t really use over 100MB of RAM and was always very quick to pull up and respond to commands. One thing I like about Significator for iTunes is that it supports music that may not be physically on your computer but rather available via iTunes Match, such is the case when I’m using my Retina MacBook Pro. The support for iTunes Match means you’ll be able to see album artwork, browse through albums and songs, and use the app just as if the music were located on your hard drive.

Overall, Significator for iTunes is a great solution for people looking for a quick way to manage their iTunes music library without having to be really distracted by it while they’re working. It’s definitely worth the download, especially since it’s currently free until the release of iTunes 11, at which point, it will cost $4.99.

Additionally, I’ve been told by the developer that an update is being planned once iTunes 11 is released.
