Samsung Unveils Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO 12.2-inch Tablets
Isn’t CES a wonderful time of year? Samsung just announced it’s releasing a new Pro line of tablets: the Galaxy NotePRO (seen above) and TabPRO. The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO present the world’s first 12.2-inch WQXGA Widescreen (16:10) display, offering a display with a resolution of 2560×1600 and that boast more than 4 million pixels.
The NotePRO is 7.95mm thin with the same back texture as the Galaxy Note 3 and sports a 2.3Ghz quad core processor with 3GB of RAM. But don’t worry if the NotePRO doesn’t tickle your fancy, all of the models are sufficiently decked out with 3GB of RAM, 32-64GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, WiFi a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO support, USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 LE.
Seems like Samsung is trying to (or have depending on how you look at it) beat Apple to the punch.
The tablets feature what Samsung is calling a Magazine UX, which allows users to organize their favorite content in an easy-to-use dashboard with automatic feed or news updates and then quickly access the most frequently used apps for a more comfortable reading experience. In addition to the new Magazine UX, the tablets have a new nifty feature called Multi Window that enables users to split the screen up into four different windows.
Samsung will also be including the S Pen with the Galaxy NotePRO which means users will be able to take advantage of the new Pen Window feature that will enable them to draw a window of any size on the screen, and instantly access unique in-application features such as YouTube or a calculator.
In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO lines will come with various options: WiFi Only, WiFi and 3G, or WiFi and LTE. You will also be able to choose between the 12.2-inch Galaxy NotePRO that comes with an included S Pen, and the 12.2-inch Galaxy TabPRO, Galaxy TabPRO 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch without the S Pen.
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO tablet line will be offered globally and will be available starting in Q1 2014.
