Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 Coming March 9th, Will Cost You $650
Are you in the market for a ridiculously large tablet with a screen size almost as big as the average notebook screen? If so, Samsung’s got some great news for you. You may remember the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, a monster of a tablet that Samsung announced alongside the company’s new Flipboard style home screen interface dubbed Magazine at CES 2014 last January. Well, Samsung has just dropped in and given us the gift of pricing and availability information – and it’s coming soon.
If interested, Samsung wants you to know that the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 will be arriving at your favorite online and offline retailer on March 9th. For the low, low price of $650, you’ll get a tablet with a physical design reminiscent of a Galaxy Note III, a 12.2 inch screen with a display resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, 2 GB of RAM, Android 4.2.2, 16GB of built in storage, an 8 MP camera, and a quad-core Exynos 5 octa-core SoC.
Of course, the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 is very much a mobile tablet that runs mobile applications rather than a true desktop replacement like a traditionally professional tablet has often been thought of. A tablet this large and pricey will almost certainly garner a dedicated, but niche following. For the rest of you professional tablet advocates, mind if I point you to the direction of the Microsoft Surface Pro 2, a tablet with a similar professional-oriented concept running an actual desktop operating system?
