Samsung Galaxy S IV Reportedly Won't Have Eye-Tracking Technology

Talk about a total bummer if this new report by Bloomberg is true.  The report by Bloomberg states that the Galaxy S IV will not include the eye-tracking feature at launch, although it could potentially appear in “future versions of the phone.”  The report claims that Samsung will instead use a simpler tracking technology that will have the ability to pause videos when a user turns away from the screen.

The report by Bloomberg also claims to have confirmed that the Galaxy S IV will come in two models, one with a Qualcomm quad-core processor and the other with Samsung’s own Exynos 5 Octa CPU.  However, you won’t really have a choice in the matter.  The U.S. version of the device will feature the quad-core Snapdragon processor because of its integrated LTE radio, while international models will sport the Samsung eight-core CPU.

As we’ve mentioned before, the Galaxy S IV is rumored to have a 4.99-inch full HD 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, wireless charging capabilities, a micro SD slot and a 13-megapixel rear camera.

I have to admit, I’m a little upset about this.  I was totally looking forward to the eye-tracking technology as well as the Samsung eight-core processor.

Well, I guess we’ll all find out for sure tomorrow at the Samsung event in NYC, which by the way you can watch live on YouTube starting at 7PM EST.
