Is this proof Apple has given up on the Mac Pro?
Is this search result proof Apple has given up on the Mac Pro? I just did a Google search for “Mac Pro” and decided to click on the top ad link titled “Mac Pro” which went directly to Apple.com, however, I didn’t end up exactly where I thought I would land (the Mac Pro page, obviously), instead it went to the MacBook Pro page. And unless you have been living under a rock, you’re likely aware that the MacBook Pros were recently updated, yet Apple’s Mac Pro computer hasn’t been updated in three years.
Anyway, take a close look at the screenshot I’ve taken below, pay attention to how I was hovering over the “Mac Pro” ad link and how if you view the actual link that the ad is pointing to, it’s the MacBook Pro page as seen at the bottom of the screen in the status bar area.
Is the Mac Pro pretty much toast? I hope not, but this doesn’t look too promising at the moment.
One of my Twitter followers, Quinn Nelson pointed out it may be the fact there are people who refer to the MacBook Pro as a Mac Pro. I’m not 100% sold on that theory, but it’s certainly a possibility.
@jeffweisbein Maybe. Could also be that a lot of non-Apple people refer to the MBP as Mac Pro.
