Potential Nexus 5 Images Surface, Google Reportedly No Longer Restocking Nexus 4

Google’s Nexus 4 smartphone has run its course in the Google Play store, and is officially no longer available for purchase. Yesterday, the store was depleted entirely of its stock of the 16gb version of the Nexus 4 (for the US at least), and 8gb versions were cleaned out last week.

Now, “a trusted source” tells The Verge that this indicates the end of the road for the phone, and that Google has no current plans to place it back on digital shelves. If true, this fits with the rumors circulating that Google is preparing to announce its Nexus 4 follow-up device, the Nexus 5 (name not yet confirmed).

And though we received some details about the potential phone’s tech specs not long ago through FCC filings, new images of the device have surfaced online in the form of, you guessed it, a leak. The scoop comes from a tipster who sent images and video of the rumored device to 9to5Google, which are showcased below.

The device is supposedly running on Google’s newly announced update to its Android mobile operating system, entitled Android 4.4 “KitKat.” The previous leak, via FCC filings, is leading folks to believe that the phone is comprised of a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5-inch display, and true, full LTE support for networks like AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.
