Official Launch: bt.gd Goes Live!

Roslyn, New York – December 24th, 2009 – BestTechie Holdings, Inc. is pleased to announce the official launch of bt.gd.  The launch of bt.gd marks BestTechie’s first full web service.  The bt.gd project started as a private shortener for BestTechie.net.  After a few months, Jeff Weisbein realized the growing need for short URLs.  In November 2009, BestTechie Holdings, Inc. hired Michael Morris to assist in the development of bt.gd.  After only a few days bt.gd had a working build.

“We looked to build a service that did what no other URL shortening service currently offers and I think we accomplished that,” said Jeff Weisbein, President of BestTechie Holdings, Inc.  Since the early beta build of bt.gd released in November 2009, there have been over 100 bug fixes, feature upgrades, and new features added to the service.  “Working on bt.gd has been a great experience.  I think we have developed something truly unique with a lot of potential,” said Michael Morris.

Today, we are proud to announce the new bt.gd features which are available immediately.

• Refinements: With hundreds of backend changes, bt.gd is able to deliver blazing fast performance for quick and easy link sharing.
• Facebook: Integration of the largest social network on the Internet allows you to login without hassle.
• my.bt.gd: Personalize our directory with a personal subdomain (e.g. jeff.bt.gd) to help share your links more efficiently.
• my.bt.gd: RSS feeds of your latest links with detailed information for friends or personal use. Example.
• Voting: With Facebook integration comes the ability to vote up or down links in our directory based on their relevance and popularity.
• Tagging: Another great feature of Facebook integration is the ability to tag links in our directory and have them show in a tag pool.
• Thumbnail Previews: Thanks to OpenDNS, we now provide link preview thumbnails in our directory, recent links, and popular links lists.
• Organization: Easily find the link you are looking for with advanced sorting options in our directory.
• Pagination: Minor features make all the difference. With an entirely new pagination system, you can easily jump to the page you are looking for.
• Page Titles: With bt.gd’s advanced caching system we can display the page title for any link for easier previewing, and we also have the option to refresh the title if it changes.
