Motorola Begins Accepting Pre-Orders for Moto G, Ships December 2nd

Are you in the market for a low-priced, but certainly not low-quality, smartphone straight from the father of Android – Google itself? Then you’re in luck; Motorola announced today that they have begun accepting pre-orders for the eagerly anticipated Moto G smartphone in the United States today, which will cost customers just $179 for an unlocked 8GB model, or $199 for an unlocked 16GB.

Customers who pre-order today will supposedly receive their Moto G well ahead of Christmas, with current orders slated to ship on December 2nd. As an unlocked 3G phone (no LTE here), the Moto G supports both T-Mobile and AT&T out of the box, with Verizon and Sprint options rumored to be launching in early 2014. Design wise, the Moto G has a lot in common with its larger, more powerful flagship brother, the Moto X – including the colorful back plates and high quality display.

Though inexpensive, the Moto G packs quite the punch with a quad-core 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, a 4.5″ display, 5 MP rear camera, 1.3 MP front facing camera, and Android 4.3 (with an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat on the way.)
