iOS 7 Is Reportedly Running Behind Schedule, But Will Have A New Look
The Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) is just a few months away and all eyes are on iOS 7 and the next iPhone. However, according to Daring Fireball’s John Gruber, the push to meet iOS 7’s development targets is requiring the company to reallocate resources from the OS X team to the iOS team in order to meet the deadline.
“What I’ve heard: iOS 7 is running behind, and engineers have been pulled from OS X 10.9 to work on it.”
Jony Ive took over leading human interface development after the departure of Scott Forstall, and he is reportedly pushing a more modern, “flat” design for the next installment of Apple’s mobile OS. Many have called iOS stale for quite some time, so a new iOS look and feel may be just what the doctor ordered. Recently, iMore’s Rene Ritchie wrote that “Ive’s work is apparently making many people really happy, but will also apparently make rich-texture-loving designers sad.”
