Here are 3 foldable smartphones that could change the future of mobile
Foldable smartphones define a whole new category of smartphones and this breakthrough is still at a nascent stage so it’s hard to determine its viability in the future. The war for the dominant folding phone is on and no OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is backing off from sporting their state of the art technology smartphones.
Let’s take a look at the upcoming foldable smartphones that will redefine the future of smartphone technology.
Samsung Galaxy Fold
Galaxy Fold is a device that is unlike anything you have ever seen before. It defines a new start to display technology by bringing an Infinity Flex display that is foldable. The stunning 7.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED display cements the tag of the largest galaxy display ever to be packed in a box. The device intuitively folds like a book, thanks to the articulated spine hinge making the device an engineering marvel to look upon.

Gaming is like a breeze on this device thanks to the 12GB RAM for intensive multitasking and high-end Snapdragon 855 7nm 64-bit octa-core processor chipset. The dual battery with 4380mAh makes sure that the Fold never runs out of juice.
The added 5G capabilities, six pro-grade cameras (Cover: 10MP Selfie Camera, Front: 10MP, Selfie Camera, 8MP RGB Depth Camera, 16MP Ultra Wide Camera, 12MP Wide-angle Camera, and 12MP Telephoto Camera), 512GB built-in storage, Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos surround sound makes this device one of the most anticipated device from Samsung.
Although the device is running through some technical difficulties, for now, the company has assured that they are looking to re-release the device sometime in 2020.
Huawei Mate X
Mate X from Huawei is the next generation 5G smartphone that will integrate a new era of communicative interaction. The innovative screen flexibility along with the Falcon Wing design makes the Mate X a device to marvel upon. The artistically crafted hinge makes sure that the screen won’t bulge or stretch while folding.

Motorola Razr 2019
The upcoming foldable smartphone from Motorola will retain its upcoming name. As confirmed way back in April 2019 from the patents and the remarks made by the Motorola Vice President of Global Product Dan Dery shows that something is cooking – “no intention of coming later than everybody else in the market.”
The CEO of Lenovo (Motorola is part of Lenovo now), Yang Yuanqing said, “With the new technology, particularly foldable screens, I think you will see more and more innovation on our smartphone design. So hopefully what you just described [the Motorola Razr brand] will be developed or realized very soon.”
The device is going to be a full foldable flip phone that opens up from the inside. It will retain a new futuristic design by going all screen replacing the hinge joints of the previous iteration. It will have a tent-like display mode, two cameras and an unfolded screen size of 7 inches. The Razr 2019 is expected to come with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 system-on-a-chip. The company is rumored to opt for an older chipset to bring down the cost of the smartphone.
