Google Chrome for Mac (Now With Extensions)
It is really no surprise that Google has just announced (especially with Macworld going on this week) a new beta of Google Chrome for Mac which includes extensions and bookmark syncing support. The new beta also includes a bookmark manager, which has been missing for quite some time (though has been available in Chromium).
There are currently over 2,000 extensions in the Google Chrome extension gallery. Many of them are pretty nifty and provide some nice additional functionality. I personally have been using the latest Chromium builds as my default browser for quite some time now and I love it. You can download the latest Chrome for Mac build here or if you have Chrome for Mac installed it should auto-update for you sometime within the next day.
I should note that I downloaded and attempted to write this post in the latest Chrome for Mac beta build (5.0.307.7) and it crashed on me twice. Needless to say, I’m now writing this post in Chromium. I’m not sure what’s up with the crashing, it may be an extension, the build, or something else. I haven’t narrowed it down yet. If you are experiencing any crashing in the new Chrome for Mac build, let me know in the comments.
