For Some, iOS 8 is Taking *Forever* to Download
The latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 8, officially released to the public yesterday. Many iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners jumped on the update, starting the download right away.
And some of those downloads are still going.
To the right, you’ll find my own iPad download of the update, which states that I’ll finally have iOS 8 in about six hours. What that shot doesn’t tell you is that I started that download at around 9pm last night on a 50 Mbps connection. So at the time of my typing this sentence, my iPad has been downloading the iOS 8 update for approximately 22 hours.
I’m certainly not alone in this. A quick search of Twitter and you’ll see plenty of people complaining about the download time. Heck, a quick search of my home feed is telling me that, but here are the words coming from the general public:
It took 15 hours to almost download iOS 8, only to end with an "Unkown Error" message pic.twitter.com/fCSYqU3Oqk

Home, sick. Thought, maybe I’ll download iOS 8.
“30 hours remaining”
So there might be a few people downloading this thing.

So yeah, people are definitely finding that the iOS 8 download is slow, slow, slow. Hopefully the OS itself is a bit snappier.
