Did an Asian Pop Star Leak iPhone 6 Photos?

Despite the fact that WWDC has come and gone, there’s always a hunger for more and more Apple news – especially if it’s related to the still unannounced iPhone 6. Over on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, a Taiwanese singer, actor, and racecar driver (no seriously) named Jimmy Lin posted images purporting to show the iPhone 6 next to the 5s, along with some details about the device that fall in line with what we’ve heard before:

Based on the translation provided by Google, Lin reveals that the iPhone 6 sports a 4.7-inch screen, and a power button located on the right side of the device along with “no built-in antenna coated outside.” Additionally, the phone feels “more rounded,” and has a “good grip.”

We’ve heard that the iPhone 6 will have a 4.7-inch display, bigger than the display found on the current-generation of iPhone 5s and 5C, which clocks in at 4-inchese. Moreover, the iPhone 6 expected to offer 1704 x 960 resolution at that display size, with another larger iPhone 6 featuring a 5.5-inch display on supposedly on the way as well.

The pictures look like they could be the real deal as well. A post on CNET points out that Lin has leaked other Apple devices in the past, including the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini. However, as you can see in the photos, the back of the alleged iPhone 6 is missing all the tell-tale text that usually comes with a finished Apple device. Is this because the text gets stamped on after the phone leaves Asia but before it heads to retail? Or is it because these “iPhone 6” images are just really slick looking mock-ups?

Either way, these images show a nice looking handset that continues to evolve the look and feel of Apple’s flagship device. If it’s the real thing, there’s no doubt it’ll find many, many fans who love what Apple’s done with the iPhone. But that still leaves some questions. Just how does this guy get his hands on early Apple devices? And how long will Apple let him leak photos on Weibo before they send him a cease and desist letter…or worse?
