Destiny Diary, Issue 5: The Patch Has Landed
So hey! Destiny Diary is just a little bit late this week. I apologize — I got unexpectedly sick and didn’t get the post up on its usual Friday. This week’s update is definitely worth reading, though, as some pretty major things have happened in the world of Destiny.
Let’s find out what’s new and exciting.
Bungie’s 1.1.1 Destiny Patch Has Landed
Bungie said that it had hoped to release Destiny’s 1.1.1 patch by the end of February, and the company hit that mark with a few days to spare. The patch, which fixed the well-covered heavy ammo glitch, and also brought some great additions like Weekly Heroic strike matchmaking and the ability view reputation levels on the inventory screen. But that’s not all Bungie had up its sleeve…
Destiny’s Companion App Now Lets You Access Other Characters and Vault Items
If you run multiple characters, or if you’re just someone who stores a lot of stuff in the Vault and you’re sick and tired of running to the Tower, this update is one you’ll like. The Destiny Companion app for iOS and Android now lets you access the Vault, and also lets you transfer items to and from the Vault and between all of your characters. You can use the app to move armor, weapons, or other items while you’re out and about, or while you’re in the middle of a game. This is a pretty big deal — if you need a weapon mid-raid and you realize it’s on another character, you can transfer it using the Destiny Companion app without having to leave your game.
Weekly Stuff, and What’s Xur Selling?
This week’s Heroic strike is one that won’t excite a lot of people. It’s the Cerberus Vae III strike on Mars, which features our good friend (and mega bullet-sponge) Valus Ta’aurc. The modifiers are the usual Heroic (of course), and Lightswitch. No burns this week!
As far as Xur goes, the major items he’s selling include: No Backup Plans (Titan Gauntlets), ATS/8 Arachnid (Hunter Helmet), Heart of Praxic Fire (Warlock Chest Armor), and Universal Remote (Shotgun). Xur also has an Exotic Shard available, as well as an Exotic Helmet engram.
Warlocks: Heart of Praxic Fire is arguably the best armor you can get for your character. It is absolutely worth the 13 Strange Coins. Buy.
