Destiny Diary, Issue 10: Where to Find Xur 4/10-4/12, and What's He Selling?; Also, Weekly Strikes

Mr. Agent of the Nine, Xur, is back in the Tower as of this morning. Where’s he hanging out, and what’s he got for us this week? We’ll fill you in. We’ll also get you up to speed on what the Weekly Strikes are for the week.

Where’s Xur?

If you happen to make your way over to the Hangar in the Tower’s right side, you could probably miss Xur at first — at least, until you’re on your way back out. Xur is at the very bottom of the stairs and off to the right when you first enter the Hangar. If he’s being mobbed by fellow Guardians, the radar markers will definitely let you know where he’s at.

(Hopefully you respect Xur’s personal space, unlike the guy above.)

What’s Xur Selling?

For 23 Strange Coins, you can nab what I would have previously called an absolute must-have weapon — Suros Regime. This is an exotic auto rifle that, pre-nerf, was my go-to in both PvE and in Crucible. Post-patch, the Suros Regime is still serviceable playing against the environment, but it’s not the beast it once was in PvP.

Still, I think it’s worth a buy. Who knows — future patches could make it worthwhile. And it doesn’t go on sale often, so you never know when we’ll see it again.

As far as armor goes, Xur has brought us The Armamentarium (Titan Chest Piece), the ATS/8 Arachnid (Hunter Helmet) and Starfire Protocol (Warlock Chest Piece). None of these pieces are must-haves, with Starfire Protocol and ATS/8 Arachnid being famous for their, well, lack of popularity among exotics. Each of these will 13 Strange Coins — my advice is to hang on to those coins for now.

Feeling lucky? You could take a shot at the Chest Piece you actually want with an exotic engram (23 Motes of Light). And, of course, you can nab an Exotic Shard for 7 Strange Coins.

Weekly Strikes

The bullet sponge to rule all bullet sponges is this week’s strike — Valus Ta’aurc, better known as “We’ve barely taken his health bar down!”

For the Nightfall Strike, there are no burn modifiers. All you get is Angry, Epic, Lightswitch, and Juggler. For the Weekly Heroic, the only modifier is Lightswitch.

Guardians can take solace in the fact that Bungie plans to fix the Valus strike with its 1.1.2 patch. This patch will take away 1/3 of his health, which should help increase completion numbers for the strike.
