Changing the country for your Apple ID: How do you do it?

You finally did it. You made that big move, picking up stakes and planting them down again in a brand new country. We know how tough that can be — starting over again in an unfamiliar place. But you’ll get there! You’ll learn how to remember your new address. You’ll eventually figure out where the grocery store is.

One of the minor things you might not even think of, though, is how your move will affect your devices. You know, your iPhone and your iPad. If you’re in an entirely different region, you certainly can’t go buying from the U.S. store anymore.

That means you’ll need to change the country associated with your Apple ID.

Fortunately, it’s pretty easy. Before you commit, though, you’ll want to do a few things first. If you have store credit, spend it. If you have subscriptions tied to your account, cancel them. And then get the payment method from your new home ready. It’s time.
