Apple Details Its Annual ‘Back-to-School’ Student Promotion
Every year, computer company Apple launches a discount-driven promotion of its products in favor of students, teachers and educational faculty who are returning to the classroom for another semester. This year, the deal is virtually the same as it’s been in past years, with App Store gift cards being included with every Mac, iPhone and iPad sold by Apple between now and September 6, 2013 (when the promotion concludes).
Specifically, customers who purchase a Macintosh computer (like a Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, or iMac) will be given a free $100 gift card for use on the digital App Store, where you can purchase games like Ridiculous Fishing and useful day-to-day applications like Google Maps. Many applications are free, so smart spending on your part can really stretch the benefit of that 100 digital dollars.
Customers who purchase an iPhone or iPad during the promotion period will receive half of that bonus, a $50 App Store gift card. This is the first time that iPhones have been included in the back-to-school deal, and we imagine Apple will continue to honor its inclusion in the years to come, given the incessantly increasing popularity of the device among consumers.
In addition to general gift card inclusions, Mac computers like the Macbook Pro, Macbook Air and iMac are up to $200 off their original pricing during the promotion. All you have to do is provide proof of your attendance or employment at a participating school or university to qualify for a discount. You can find out more details about the promotion on Apple’s website.
The Apple Back-to-School offer is available in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. It will run until September 6, 2013.
