Apple iPad Event Reportedly Set for Oct 16
For the last few weeks, we’ve heard that Apple’s upcoming event – which many believe will see the announcement of a refreshed iPad, the release of OS X Yosemite, and maybe even a new iMac Retina – will be scheduled for October 21, almost exactly one year from a similar event held in 2013. However, a new report today claims that the event – which has yet to be confirmed by Apple at all – will actually be held on October 16.
The news comes by way of a post on Recode, which says that the event will be held at the Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino, CA. There, we’ll supposedly get a glimpse at new iPads along with the iMac Retina and OS X Yosemite, as previously reported. One reason why it’d be a good idea to take this new date as accurate is because of how eerily close Recode came in accurately predicting the Apple Watch’s debut last month.
There were tons of reports and rumors about when we would or wouldn’t see the Apple Watch (or, as we’d known it back then, the iWatch). But it was a post on Recode shortly before the September 9 event that had all the details right: the Apple Watch would show up, but it wouldn’t be available until sometime in 2015. So far, that’s all come to pass, so it stands to reason that whatever sources Recode flexed to get that information might be working its mojo here as well.
Other than that, not much new or interesting. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see when or if Apple actually gets around to confirming this event in October. Stay tuned.
