Flipboard 2.0 Comes to Android, Brings Popular Magazine Feature

Today, Flipboard is releasing version 2.0 on Android.  We mentioned how Flipboard 2.0 for Android was coming very soon last week when Mike McCue was interviewed at TechCrunch Disrupt NY.  The new update allows users to create their own magazine centered around topics, events, or any personal interest. Previously, aside from implementing your Twitter and Facebook feeds, the only content available came from sources pulled by Flipboard’s editorial team.

Since Flipboard 2.0 was released for iOS back in late March, over 1 million magazines have been created and Flipboard has added over 6 million new users.  Of course, Android users have been left in the dark, until now.

• Either using the Flipboard app or a browser bookmarklet, select an article, story, or page that you wish to curate. If you’re using the app, tap on the plus button [+] in order to add it to your publication. Magazines must be started this way — they cannot be done from scratch.
• Continue going through as many sources as you want to add more stories to your publication.
